Simplifying international commerce for a fast-growing sports brand
As Osaka’s international direct-to-consumer (DTC) presence grew, their custom platform limited speed, flexibility, and the ability for the internal team to manage content independently. Osaka partnered with Domaine to migrate to Shopify and modernize its DTC experience and create a stronger foundation for growth.
Empowering the team with Shopify’s flexibility and speed
One of Osaka’s main challenges with their custom architecture was the speed at which they could launch and create new content. When migrating them to Shopify Domaine built their store using Shopify’s “sections everywhere” — reusable components that can be added to different pages throughout the site. This enables the Osaka team to create and edit content directly in Shopify at pace without relying on developer support, allowing for faster campaign launches and more agile merchandising.
Improving discovery and conversion with smarter UX
Beyond the platform migration, Domaine introduced a range of UX enhancements designed to streamline product discovery and accelerate the purchase journey. A Quick Shop feature allows customers to add products directly to their cart from collection pages, reducing friction and shortening the path to checkout. Customers can now also create multiple wishlists, making it easier to organize purchases across sports categories such as hockey and padel. The new store also leverages advanced multi-filtering, allowing products to carry multiple tags and enabling shoppers to refine results more intuitively.
Scaling internationally with Shopify Markets
As Osaka’s global footprint expanded, the brand needed a simpler way to manage its growing international audience. With Shopify Markets and Shopify Payments in place, Osaka can seamlessly support multiple currencies and run global commerce without maintaining separate stores, improving the checkout experience for international customers and simplifying operations for their teams. To support localization across regions, Domaine also integrated Weglot to provide multilingual functionality for customers shopping across Europe and the United States.
Powering merchandising and discovery with best-in-class tools
By leveraging Shopify, Osaka have access to Shopify’s extensive app ecosystem including tools that strengthen merchandising, discovery, and retention. LimeSpot powers cross-selling experiences that increase product discovery and basket size, while Algolia delivers faster and more intelligent site search that surfaces relevant products even when customers enter partial queries. Email marketing continues to play a central role in Osaka’s growth strategy through Klaviyo, with automated flows and campaigns driving a significant share of the brand’s revenue.
Results: a faster, more flexible foundation for global growth
Osaka’s new Shopify foundation, built by Domaine, gives the brand the flexibility to expand into new regions, launch products faster, and continue growing its global D2C business. Alongside desktop success, Osaka’s mobile performance had meaningful improvement, strengthening the brand’s ability to serve customers across different shopping preferences and supporting a faster browsing experience across markets.
