Domaine
Code has been acquired by Domaine, the leading Shopify partner for international brands.
Kabrita
Building a unified foundation for international growth
Kabrita is a fast-growing FMCG brand known for its infant formula made from Dutch goat’s milk, sold in more than 30 countries across six continents through wholesale, D2C, offline, and online channels.
Creating a scalable Shopify foundation for global teams
Before migrating to Shopify, Kabrita’s regional sites operated largely independently, with little coordination between local marketing teams. When migrating them from their WordPress / WooCommerce architecture to Shopify, Domaine developed a centralized theme that established a shared design system and UX framework across markets. This approach allowed Kabrita to scale quickly, with new regional stores launching from the same core theme while maintaining consistent branding and functionality.
Balancing global governance with local flexibility
A key challenge for a global brand like Kabrita is maintaining a consistent platform globally while enabling regional teams to tailor their storefronts. Within the centralized Shopify theme, developed by Domaine, local teams can manage their own content, install apps, and enable or disable certain functionality depending on local needs or regulatory requirements. For example, teams in markets without ecommerce capabilities can simply disable checkout, while others can toggle reviews or additional features on and off. This flexible structure allows Kabrita to test new tools or features in one region before rolling them out globally, helping teams share best practices and avoid duplicating work.
Expanding capabilities with subscriptions and personalization
With the Shopify foundation in place, Domaine helped Kabrita enhance their ecommerce ecosystem by introducing tools that support retention and personalization. For example, Recharge was implemented to enable subscription-based purchasing, allowing customers to receive infant formula on a recurring schedule. And, Klaviyo was introduced as the brand’s primary customer data and marketing automation platform, enabling advanced segmentation and personalized campaigns across channels.
Results
By migrating Kabrita from WordPress and WooCommerce to Shopify, Domaine created a scalable global ecommerce platform that simplifies operations while enabling regional flexibility. Today, the brand has 11 Shopify stores across multiple regions, including a localized Arabic-language storefront. With subscriptions, personalized marketing, and a unified platform now in place, Kabrita has a digital foundation that supports continued global growth.
