Facilitating flexibility with a Magento to Shopify migration
In alignment with the brand's desire for agility, Stanfield's enlisted Domaine Studio to migrate its online operations from Adobe Commerce (formerly Magento) to Shopify Plus, a move which led to increased online sales and flexibility.
Domaine Studio’s design team worked closely with Stanfield’s to showcase their Canadian pride while reimagining this historic brand. Together, they established a fresh look that effectively utilized the brand’s image archive on a modern, responsive, and easy-to-navigate site. Domaine Studio redesigned the PDPs for a functional and beautiful UX, incorporating an accessible sizing chart and care instructions. A standout feature was the real-time inventory system, sending email notifications to customers when products are back in stock.
Domaine Studio began by streamlining Stanfield’s former mega-menu, creating more intuitive navigation that integrates with other brands like Elita and Snow Angel. The team refined the FAQs into an easy-to-find page and simplified the process for adding product reviews. Products are now organized with tags, collections, and custom filters for type, color, and fabric. Quick shop functionality on collection pages allows fast purchases, and live inventory quantities at the variant level show customers exactly which color and size combinations are available.
The UX improvements extended beyond the customer-facing site. Stanfield’s previous Magento platform was difficult for their internal team to manage, so Domaine Studio addressed their concerns with smart solutions. For instance, they no longer need to create new products for each sale item—now, their custom Shopify Plus theme allows staff to easily set sale prices on specific variants. We also streamlined workflows using Exportify and Stock Sync, significantly reducing manual tasks for customer care.
